Series of Theft From Unattended Motor vehicles - red Alert

There has been a series of around 10 thefts/attempted thefts from unattended motor vehicles between 23-26 October. There may be more vehicles involved on other roads than those listed below. These roads are in the Denne & Highwood area and near the Horsham town centre, in the areas of:

Middleton Road

Deer Way

Ingram Close

Blackbridge Lane

Tanbridge Park.

I have been asked by Inspector Durkan, Neighbourhood Policing Team, Horsham, to make all residents aware and to please ask you to keep reporting any crimes or suspicious activities. As you know, call 999 if there is a danger to life, or 101 for non-emergencies.

Please remain vigilant and check in on neighbours.

This red Alert is being sent to all of the Horsham District as, unfortunately, perpetrators tend to move around.

Please remember to take the usual precautions to protect your properties and motor vehicles. Prevention advice is on the Horsham District website and also the Sussex Police website.  We also have reminder cards to place near front doors to ensure all the necessary checks when leaving or arriving home continue to be implemented. It is unfortunately easy to become distracted in our busy lives.

Thank you.

Kind regards

Mary Irons on behalf of Inspector Neil Durkan.
